Ivan is making a name for himself in daytime. I just closed an off Broadway show here in New York, “I love being a New York actor.” Ivan is also no stranger to the big screen; he had a small role in the box office hit Rush Hour 2 starring Jackie Chan. 

So just what is in store for Henry and Maggie? Will we ever see the ramifications of Henry’s cheating??  “ The show will definitely be exploring the repercussions of Henry’s cheating and it is going to be a definite conflict between Henry and Maggie.” What does Ivan see about he longevity of their relationship “ I don’t know in what direction they are planning on going with their relationship, but I wouldn’t be surprised if something dramatic happen.”

Recently All My Children has been running promos advertising the new male leads that are on the show and in that promo is none other than Ivan himself. (Laughing) “ I am extremely flattered to be considered one of the hot new male leads.” Shaw is also happy with All My Children for other reasons.  “ Currently I am the only Asian actor on daytime and I am very thankful that the show is exploring this and the Asian culture… typically Asian actors are pigeon-holed as the geeky computer guys or even the delivery guys and never as the hot male lead, but the show is allowing me to be this hot male lead while educating its viewers at the same time.”

Ivan Shaw can be considered a Jack-of-all-trades in the entertainment industry.  Why you may ask, well not only does he act, but he also has a passion for music and writing.  “ I love playing the guitar and music has been a hobby of mine for a long time now.” Is there a chance that Henry might be the next American Idol??? “ Who knows, but I would love to see the show explore my passion of music through Henry,” says Shaw.  As for his writing, Ivan has been able to touch the lives of many people outside of the soap community.  “ I had a young lady visit my site and email me over one of my poems I wrote, she had just lost her mother and my poem expressed her emotions at the time. I was so moved thinking that my writing could actually impact anyone….it is very surreal.”

Of course Ivan is surrounded by a bevy of beauties on a daily basis and is the envy of all of his friends. (Laughing)  “ Every time my friends come to New York (from LA) to visit they always ask me if I can set them up with Terri, Liz, Alicia or Rebecca… they are so in love with them.” What male would not love to be in the company of one of these lovelies?  “ I have become friends with Terri Ivens (Simone) as well, she is wonderful and has given me a lot of excellent advice in this business.”

Ivan is very thankful to have the opportunity to be working on All My Children. “Everyone here is so wonderful, I couldn’t ask for a better group of people to work with.. I don’t know what lies ahead for my character, but I will be happy to play out any storyline that they give me.”
