Hello Soap Fans!.....Seems
this week the industry is shaking and moving. With the Emmys right
around the corner and there seems to be a lot of buzz out there.
The
HOTTOPIC
this week is the recast of Carly Corinthos now being played by
Jennifer Bransford which has created quite a stir with many General
Hospital fans. Seems the fans are divided. Many of you want Tamara or
Sarah back, while others are willing to give Ms Bransford the chance
she deserves. There are fans out there starting petitions and doing
the unthinkable. These ladies have decided to move on and take their
careers to the next step. Can you blame them? Sure, we want to see
familiar faces on our TV screen because that's what we identify with,
but it's like having a child, when the time is right you just have to
let them go and explore new horizons. Some come back to the nest and
some don't.
The bottom line is Tamara Braun chose to leave on her own accord.
Seems 4 yr contracts just don't make it anymore and that appears to be
one of the reasons why we are seeing many of our favorites leaving
daytime. The network bigwigs are not stupid by any means and they know
when they have a good thing they don't want to loose it. Trying to
control someone's career just so they can make that extra dollar
doesn't cut it anymore. The actors of today are by no means willing to
give 4 yrs of their life to a show that does not allow any outs for
other projects. Many of today's past and present actors on daytime
have lost great opportunities because TPTB would not allow them to do
anything out of daytime. Yes, I know they are some that are out doing
prime time and movies. But if you think about who they are and the
terms of their return to daytime you gotta know they worked a deal to
their liking. The networks needed these people back to bring the
ratings up. So they bit the bullet and gave these actors what they
wanted. They cut a deal as they say in show biz. Some deals are made
and some just move on.
Interestingly enough ABC has
erased any signs that Tamara ever played the part of Carly.
We have to accept the
decision of these people and wish them well. Many recasts have been
very successful and there have been many. I remember when Tamara Braun
came to GH and all I heard was, we want Sarah Brown back, Tamara can
not replace Sarah, but guess what, she did replace Sarah and the rest
is history. I could name many many recasts that were bashed when they
came on their shows but why? We have accepted these recast and life
goes on. Who knows maybe a year down the road we will be saying Tamara
who?
Now on with this week's dish..............

for fan support to raise
for Zach Slater (Cambias)on ALLMYCHILDREN in the coming weeks as his
tactics, although self serving, draw applause from
fans..........For a show that is usually right on
top of announcing when characters/actors are released
from contract (ala Campbell as Bobby Warner) how come
no announcement on Jeff Branson? Could something
interesting be up AMC's sleeve?....BAM fans are holding out
hope that somehow
Elizabeth Hendrickson will return with Eden Reigel for Erica and
Jackson's wedding
and they seem to be thankful for AMC playing
up the platonic friendship with Kendall and Greenlee to a nice
subtext.......AMC will be airing Phoebe's memorial the
week of May 9th......
Expect the return of past players including Richard Shoberg (Tom
Cudahy), Candace Early (Donna) and Francesca James (Kitty). Julia Barr fans
are beside themselves with
applause for Brooke these days. Look for Ms English to
turn to Adam
for support when Aunt Phoebe passes away. What does the future hold for the
former Mrs. Chandler?......Will Kendall give Zach want he wants and
become Mrs. Cambias once again? And what does JR have to do with all
of this?.....Amanda Dillon returns and JR is in for the shock of his
life!!!....Ryan
will be brought back from the edge of sanity by someone surprising....I
hear it on good authority that the role of Ryan Lavery's sister, Erin
has been cast and contracts have been signed. She should air sometime
mid-summer.
The rumors running rapid over at ONE LIFE TO LIVE is
the return of Carlo Hesser.
It looks as though Thom Christopher (Carlo Hesser) will be returning
to the show as part of Asa's (Phil Carey) reappearance.
.....With the soon to be
killed off Jen Rappaport it will start an umbrella story that will
effect many of Llanview's finest citizens and not so fine and will
build nicely into the climax of May sweeps when Daniel's secret is
discovered. As the month of May proceeds viewers will learn more and
more about Daniel. Look for a major twist at the end of the month.
What will this do to Nora who is publicly humiliated. Watch for Nora
to have a new attitude which goes far into summer...... With Jen
gone and her final airdate May 6th Riley finds clues that dear old Dad just may be a
murderer what's left for Riley? I am hearing that Jay Wilkinson may
be out sooner then later......Todd finally tells Blair the truth
about what Margaret did to him in the cabin which causes new
problems for this couple. Todd will be so involved on getting
revenge on Asa that he will not be aware of certain people
filtrating into his life....Look for happy times for Kevin and Kelly
as they start to get back on track but not before a new man enters
the scene and causes major problems for these two......During the
month of May another victim is killed in place of a Llanview
resident. Bits and pieces will start to come out about The Killing
Club Murderer, but it appears TPTB want their viewers to read the
book to get the real clues before all is revealed. Talk about good
public relations and a good way to sell more copies......
GENERAL HOSPITAL fans have been wondering
whether Ted King will re-sign. At this time I am
hearing negations are still under way......Kristen
Storms will soon hit the GH airwaves and sources
are saying the chemistry between Scott Clifton and
Ms Storms is undeniable. How will this effect Georgie who has stood behind Dillon all the way?
Will a teen triangle begin and pit sister against
sister? And could this be the story that brings
Kristina Wagner back to GH? One can only
hope......What will become of Rachel now that it
is known that she didn't kill AJ? Secrets from her
past will start to surface and viewers will see a
Carly and Rachel a team? On my!!!!!....And
speaking of AJ's death, Carly is arrested for the
murder. She takes the fall to protect Jason. How
will Jason get Carly out of this

taking the fall himself? I hear husbands and wives
can not testify against each other in court.......
Anthony Geary returns this week and all hell
breaks loose when Helena shoots her nemesis. But
not to fear stories from the past and I mean way
past (Left hand Boy) causes a flash from the past,
only this time with different characters.....The
Q's are finally coming front and center, with the
return and death of AJ, this sets up some great
summer stories. Look for Monica to be heavily
involved and perhaps kick Alan out when someone
comes back to Port Charles......Wedding bells will
ring for Jax and Courtney very soon. Will this
leave one a widow...or a widower? Who will comfort
the one left behind?
Julia’s body is exhumed this week on As The World Turns and we
find out that there is indeed new cause of death – the buzz is, it’s a
deadly allergic reaction to bees! (buzz, get it?) … What is Keith
really hiding, and is he a threat to Lily or the answer to her
prayers? … The tide is now shifting and viewers are warming up to the
idea that Les
might not have had a hand in Julia’s murder – can
someone please just give Michael Lowry a contract already now? This
guy is a keeper! … What lengths do everyone and their dog go to, to
get rid of Craig and keep him out of Jennifer’s life? Am I the only
one who sees something wrong with this scenario? … It would be so much
easier if Jen just admitted the truth and dealt with the consequences
of her actions – like an grown up! … Is Craig headed in the direction

details about empty graves, that front page magazine cover and
stories about a mystery blonde on the set sent BB fans into a
frenzy. Are BB viewers ready for another battle for Ridge? And how
are they going to explain Taylor’s previous presence as a ghost and
where does Prince Omar fit into all of this mess? … Bridge fans are
desperately trying to explain and theorize news of Taylor’s
resurrection in a way that doesn’t harm their favorite couple … good
luck on that one! This is Brad Bell we are talking about and he
loves to torment the viewers and spin, spin, spin! …. Another face
from the past could be making their way back for a brief visit …
Another even bigger, burning question remains – where is Ridge and

Light is indeed Tony Santos. Many viewers were convinced
that it wouldn’t be this character but then again, is anybody really
dead on a soap opera? Stephen Martines’ last airdate is April 28th …
Guilt is such a terrible thing – and when mixed with love, it makes
people do really surprising things - which could explain Michelle’s
upcoming exit while Nancy St. Alban is off on maternity leave … The

could Terrible Tom be headed for Ashley Abbott’s realm – it looks
