Soaptown U S A:
Well, the “Jasam” and “Liason” fans are all riled up and ready to duke it out.
What do you think?
Steve
Burton:
As Rocky would say, “Go for it [laughs]!” It definitely creates a lot of drama
— on the show and off the show!
Soaptown: What do you think about the possibility of Franco coming back?
Burton
[pauses]: Do you hear the crickets, Tom [laughs]? I’d tackle him before he got
to the [studio] gate and go, “Don’t go in there [laughs]!”
Soaptown: You mentioned at the GH Fan Club Weekend that the Burtons were
homeless.
Burton:
We are homeless. Well, we were temporarily. We’re giving up California for
Nashville. We sold the house. It sold fast, so we were bouncing around between
my wife’s mom’s house, a friend’s house, hotels, you name it.
Soaptown: Are you ready to work that commute?
Burton:
We’re far ahead right now in the taping schedule, so I don’t quite know what
the plans will be. I just know our home base is going to be in Nashville,
Tennessee, and my kids will be getting into school there. This has been a
seven-year journey since it all began.
Soaptown: You were lucky to sell your house so quickly in this economy.
Burton:
We’d tried before and nothing happened, and we thought, “Well, maybe it’s not
the plan to be there,” but I said to my wife, "Let’s just put the house up one
more time.” We’d tried many times before, but this time around it sold within
six weeks and we were like, “Okay, we’re out! It’s time.” That was a small
miracle, so we are very, very excited.
