Remember last week when I was asking Olivia, "Are you kidding me
lady?" I'm still asking that. Sonny wants Olivia to put in a good
word for him with Dante, because he wants to get to know his son
before being shipped off to the big house (yeah right). Olivia
refused, pointing out that Dante grew up to be a fine person, and it
would not have happened if he had been raised in Sonny's world. I
look at Michael, the whining control freak, and Kristina, the blind
who refuses to see, and I can't help but agree. Okay yeah, Dante
would've probably ended up just as dysfunctional as Sonny's other
kids. But the fact is, Mizz Olivia, Dante is a grown man, and it's
not for you to say whether or not he pursues a relationship with his
father. That's his call. I'm still trying to figure out why Olivia
never bothered to tell Sonny about Dante in the place, because,
while she thinks her reasons are valid and make sense, they actually
don't, at least not to me. Keeping a kid away from a guy because he
fell in love with your cousin does not a good reason make. Oh and
then there's this thing about keeping Dante's parentage a secret.
Heh? What's that expression about closing the barn door after the
horses already got out, or whatever the hell it is? Half of Port
Chuck and their kid sisters already knows about Sonny being Dante's
father, unless I am sadly mistaken. Keep what secret from whom,
might I ask?
Now, all of a sudden, Johnny has this hankering for making Sonny
pay for what happened to Claudia. I must not have been paying close
attention because to me, that seemed to come out of nowhere. Lately
when I've seen Johnny, he's been shirtless (not that I'm objecting,
mind you) and wrapped around Olivia. Now he's plotting with Anthony
to mop the streets with Sonny. I must've really dozed off or
something because I'm scratching my head as we speak. Anthony never
gave two, well you know, about Claudia and only briefly (if at all)
mentioned avenging her death, unless I truly am nuts. Johnny worked
for Sonny, yes? Now it's all starting to make a little sense, but
not by much. This was Sonny's original plan, you know, the one he
completely forgot about? Let's review: Sonny planned to marry
Claudia and hook the Z's on his line once and for all, and he did
that to find out for certain who shot Kate at their wedding. Once
Claudia was entrenched in Sonny's life, his need to avenge Kate's
shooting faded into the woodwork - fast. So now, is Johnny cozying
up to Sonny to exact his own brand of revenge? Or should I sum it
all up and say it really was out of nowhere?
Johnny tries to draw Ethan into his plot, pointing out that Sonny
doesn't care about Luke and brushing aside Ethan's belief that no
harm would come to him because of the bond between Luke and Sonny.
Johnny don't know much very well, do he? Ethan is right - Luke and
Sonny share a mutual respect and a long-standing friendship. Sonny
would never deliberately put any of Luke's kids in harms way; on the
contrary, he has always looked out for them. He does indeed care
about Luke. And speaking of a bond that can't be broken, that is
just what Robin was saying to Steve about her friendship with Sonny.
They are forever tied together because of Stone - like I said,
Johnny knows nothing about who or what Sonny is really loyal to, so
suggesting that Sonny would throw away one of Luke's children just
because he can is absolutely insane. Made me want to smack Johnny's
beautiful face. As for Robin, stick to your guns, girl. If people
don't get it, they don't get it. I adore Sonny's brotherly affection
towards Robin that has stood the test of time.
I have to confess, I enjoyed the scenes with Maxie and Lucky.
These two share a sordid and drug-riddled history, and in refreshing
Maxie fashion, she did not even attempt to white-wash what she did
to Lucky to get him into the sack and to keep their affair going.
She did nothing to help him get off drugs, she plied him with them,
and she admitted to it. Because they are in this new place, Lucky
was able to open up to Maxie about his troubles with Liz, and Maxie
was able to advise him in a mature and adult manner. Whodathunkit?
Lucky is clearly confuzzled about Liz. He loves her but, as he said,
every time he looks at her, he sees her with Nikolas. It's tough
when that first true love of yours doesn't continue to live up to
the standards you set and you keep getting your heart broken over
and over. I kind of liked Lucky's idea of stuffing Ethan in a trunk
and taking off - that's the Lucky I know. You know, the one who used
to pull off scams with his dad and later laugh about it, proud of
sticking it to the establishment once again. The Lucky we've seen in
the past few years is the one who always draws the short straw in
love and occasionally plays cop. I can kind of see now, more than
before, why Luke once took umbrage to Lucky being a police officer.
It's so not anti-establishment, cowboy! Their misadventures (most of
them illegal) are what helped draw Luke and Lucky closer.
