 LOUNGING  N  LA

I WAS madder than hell about last week's show.

Then I looked at the big picture, and now I say “Right on, Brad!”

Sometimes you just gotta step back and look at the overall picture to see the good in what's happening and recognize that it's just what needs to go down in order for things to grow. Thankfully, I was able to do that before banging out a very bad tirade on my keyboard here about the things that happened last week to get on my last little nerve. Let me explain.

Every single Taylor fan got slapped in the face when Phoebe died, Jack was stolen from her by the one woman she's battled for years who has the morals of an alley cat and has absolutely no mothering skills to speak of, and she lost the one man she has been in love with and had a loving happy marriage to for years TO that same piece of trash. We were livid. We were incensed. Tons of us ARE STILL refusing to support the show or the sponsors because the good girl keeps getting reamed while the trash who drops her panties on a sigh from the man she is after walks away with all of her kids AND the guy. Some of us are still waiting for Brad Bell to right the wrongs and put the history of the show back where it belongs. That's what got me SO DAMNED PISSED at last week's show. Here it is poor Taylor is single, has lost 2 kids because of Brooke, and for what, another round of BRIDGE, a Bridge that is again having problems and uses sex to communicate because neither one of them trust the other to be verbal???? UHHHH...OH HELLLLL no, I thought.

Once again, Brooke is putting a kid ahead of Ridge and his needs. Once again, Brooke and Ridge are fighting. Once again, they use SEX to communicate because they don't TALK like married couples. Once again, Ridge goes whining to either his mother or Taylor. WAIT A DAMNED MINUTE, WE TAYLOR FANS WATCHED OUR GIRL SUFFER THREE HUGE LOSSES FOR THIS???? We have to watch Brooke and Ridge's foolish childish nonsense??? BOY, I was ticked off. Then I sat back to do the column, went over everything that happened last week in my mind, and the pieces started fitting together. In fact, the entire direction of the show started fitting together like a puzzle who's pieces were scattered all over the floor. WAIT A MINUTE....Bridge IS SUPPOSED to be constantly in turmoil. Ridge is SUPPOSED to be running back to Taylor or his mother for support because Brooke won't give him any. Taylor IS SUPPOSED to be alone right now and very suspicious of a relationship, rather gun shy of starting a new life without Ridge. She's not supposed to!

Ridge and Taylor had a loving, happy marriage for years and years, as well as fantastic stories on their own WITHOUT Brooke in them (The twin kidnapping, the TB scare) while the past 20 actual years of the show, Brooke's been written to do nothing but interfere with other people's lives and be the outsider looking in. We know the direction of the show was for Tridge and Brick, and when it was changed suddenly, Brad Bell did exactly what he should have done. If Bridge HAS to be together because Brooke has no other life without him, then so be it. At least we can all watch them be basically at each other's faces all of the time. And I have YET to see them deliriously happy as Tridge was all those years. Thank you, Brad. We had Tridge during Ridge's best years. Now Brooke has him and he's a big, spoiled baby whining about Forrester Creations and watching Brooke ONCE AGAIN put her kids before HIM. Bravo!

That being said, I loved last week's shows after sitting back and thinking about the big picture. Hope and Steffy's feud is growing on me. Hope is more like Taylor while Steffy is a little bitchy hard nose who is a cross between Queen Stephanie and Brooke, not above getting what she wants even if she has to use her sexual charms to do it. I love it! I absolutely adore watching Ridge whine and complain about Forrester Creations considering it was his own fault and his father's, that FC was lost. If Ridge and Eric would have kept the women that supported them and truly loved them in Taylor and Stephanie, the Logan cockroaches wouldn't have been able to scamper in so easy and Bill Spencer wouldn't have been able to buy a dying company. OH MAN, am I enjoying the hateful Katie Logan Spencer who is nasty, vengeful and all Logan. I'm getting a THRILL out of watching Bill's devotion to her all the while secretly getting feelings for Steffy. I'm looking forward to MORE MORE of Brooke up against Taylor both protecting their cubs. (One thing I DO NOT want to see, though, is those two fighting over a man again.)

All in all, I totally enjoyed last week's episodes when at first I thought I hated them and was getting rather ANNOYED. Funny how things seem totally better once you step back and see the bigger picture, isn't it. YES YES YES, GO BRIDGE! STAY TOGETHER and keep each other miserable. YES YES, Brooke, support your trampish sisters and air headed daughter over your husband. WE LOVE to watch Ridge get kicked in the groin AGAIN. YES YES, Taylor, DON'T step right into a romance, don't fall right into bed, even though Whip is a HUNK of burning love and I can't wait to see it heat up! That's the Taylor we all know and love, the one who still honors her feelings for her ex-husband and we know it's real love, something she's never going to lose and we love watching Ridge go whining to her. I hope to see Ridge's face when Taylor decides it's time to marry again. He's still got those feelings for her, too, so you know he's going to be ticked off.

SO HELL yes, great week. Now I see the direction and I like it! I even adore the Nicket/Sandy story and I'm actually sort of rooting for SaNick. Thanks Brad, I've seen the bigger picture.

Now for some random thoughts about last week.

  1. DAMMIT BROOKE. OH WIDGE!!! Time for sex. That's about all Bridge has going for it, ya know? And it's hillarious!!! Bridge is NO TRIDGE, Brad, and I love the way you're writing them. WORKS!
  2. This Sandy rape thing is being written VERY well. This actress has brought a new life into the show and I hope Brad keeps her around for a very long time. Sandy and Nick just ooze with chemistry. Combining the surrogate story with the rape story is fantastic, I can't get enough! You can so feel Sandy's pain, and Jack Wagner is banging it out of the ball park AGAIN.
  3. I gotta say this..............DAMN, Whip Jones is hot hot HOT!!! And he's so darned adorable!!! I know that this romance is being written slowly and it SHOULD be because Taylor is a good woman, we can't expect her to just drop her panties on a whim like Brooke does, calling any man she comes in contact with her 'soulmate' or 'destiny' and try to give them a child. Thankfully the baby making days are over for Brooke. I sure wouldn't mind though seeing a little Taylor/Whip baby. A little girl, maybe?
  4. Once again, we get a few glimpses of Jowen and once again, THEY'RE TOTALLY BORING! I'm hearing that sometime soon down the pipeline, Owen starts wanting kids again and just may start looking around. MAN, I hope so.
  5. Since there's obviously no end in sight to Bill Spencer owning Forrester Creations, I'm SO enjoying the kicks to the groin it's giving Ridge and Eric. BAHHHAHHAHHAAA, ya horny goats, you're getting just what you deserve.
  6. I'm so totally into hating Katie! It's FUN hating her!!! She's where Brooke USED to be years ago before Brooke just got plain pathetic and pitiful after pushing out her love child with Deacon. I think Hope's birth really was the death of a sassy, spiteful Brooke we loved to hate. Now Brooke is just one of those stomach churning has beens we tolerate, especially after the egg-dropping crap. She's doing exactly what she needs to be doing, being the Logan matriarch and upsetting Ridge all of the time. Woo freaking who. <rolling eyes> It's a good thing Brooke DOESN'T have her own storyline, it seems the interest in her character is dropping weekly.

Never say anything in haste or anger, my grandma used to say. Thankfully this time, I didn't. I was totally prepared to lower the boom on the show, but I sat and had some thinking time and putting everything into prospective, I can see the bigger picture and how Bridge being together IS good for the show, it's great for Taylor, and this Hope/Steffy thing is a good foundation to build the next generation on. Now if they'd just throw in a story for Thomas (DAMN woo whooooo!), a romance for Thorne (hubba hubba!!!) and perhaps a triangle between Katie/Bill/Steffy who starts showing some Brooke tendencies as well as finally putting Whip and Taylor together as a couple, we'd get ROCKING!!!

Here's some funnies for you...........

I apologize for not having done the “PMSing....Posting MY Sayso!” part of the column in a few months, it's been rather hectic and sometimes life does take strange turns. So get me those letters, tell me why you want to have your sayso in next week's column to bitch, snitch, whine, grind, blab, blubber, complain or compliment the show. As long as you do it about characters and not real people, you can just about say anything you want, and have it read by thousands and thousands of people world wide as well as a few placed in the right positions who may could do something about it.

Until next week, I’m off to play with my Bold and Beautiful ball.
