 SALEM   PLACE

Into The Groove

Days continues to rock - take that, naysayers!

Before we jump right in, there are a couple of things I definitely want to tell you about! First off is that I will be in California for the Day of Days event on November 7, and will also be paying a visit to the set that weekend as well! Salem Place with not be updated that week but look for a full report on your desks (monitors?) when I return! Also, follow us (okay, it's me, LOL) on Twitter where I will be "tweeting" live updates from California and maybe a photo or two (dozen)! I also have plans to stop by the studios that are home of Days' soap cousin, the Bold & the Beautiful - who knows what lovely folks I may run into there? On November 2, I will be chatting via conference call with that sexy beast Peter Reckell (Bo) and the divinely comely Crystal Chappell (Carly)! A very exciting week coming up for this Days fan - my humble and numerous thank you's to the fine folks at Days (as well as B&B) are just beginning.

Finally someone laid it all out for EJ and even managed to put into words everything I've been trying to say far better than I ever could have. Oh thank you, Sami! Saying that Sydney is not his daughter does not change the fact that she is, and more than EJ realizes, might I add, but never you mind. As Sami pointed out until she was blue in the face, that baby did not do anything to EJ. He can't turn his love on and off like a faucet, it doesn't work like that. I tried again, and failed to understand again why EJ is so adamant about turning his back on this little girl. Oh wait, yes I can. It's EJ in his whine, whine, whine mode. He proved it once again by saying things like, I was the one who was lied to, this happened to MEEEEE! Oh, EJ... do shut up. Twice. No one likes a crybaby, especially when it's in the form of a gaspingly gorgeous grown man like yourself. If you would tell us how you really feel EJ, instead of stomping your feet and pouting - oh wait. The sad part is that our girl Sami was preaching it to the freakin' choir and EJ was still whining and pouting like someone told him he couldn't go trick-or-treating or something. I give up, it's out of my hands. I am curious to see how EJ reacts when he learns that Sydney really is his daughter, never mind that she has been all along. Will he turn the faucet back over to warm? Jerk.

Speaking of warm and fuzzy, how good has the show been? For a soap that was facing an axe not too long ago, Days has really stepped up to the plate. They are pulling in good numbers and people are talking about the show and tuning in. Bo and Hope actually have a story, silly as it may be. Why would Hope bunk at the K mansion when she has money to buy or rent her own place? But hey, we ain't proud, we takes what we can get. Maggie has been featured quite a bit and there is nothing wrong with that. We've been getting quite a bit of Victor - heck, we've even been seeing Roman and some Lexie. Keep that up, with more Abe thrown in, and we're in the house. The returns of Carly, Justin and Vivian only spice up this delectable show. I must ask though, what of Ivan? We can certainly live with Gus, but Ivan was such a crucial part of the character of Vivian that we were just hoping...!

Carly's luck is not going to hold out much longer, as some of you may know, but in the meantime, she is using her doctoring skills to bring Rafe back from his wrestle with death. I say again that I hope to never see the character of Meredith ever again, as much as I enjoyed Rachel Kinsey. Rafe will recover, of course, and Carly will find herself in a small room with bars. I do very much enjoy Carly's friendship with Omar - what a great person to have in her corner. They share a strong bond of friendship that was pretty evident from their first scenes together. Omar is a keeper, in my opinion. I like friendships on this show - whodathunk that Sami and Nicole would become such great pals? It's wonderful. It was also nice to see Carly remember past events (like being buried alive by Vivian) so that new viewers could get a small glimpse into her history and her ties to Salem. Do I want to see Carly involved with Bo in a romantic sense? Depends on which day you ask me. I still don't understand where Hope's hostility is coming from but I do think she is being very unreasonable. Old wounds and old resentments that we didn't know were there are being opened up and while we can scream "plot point!" we may as well face it: It's working.

DAYS OF OUR LIVES

Do you think EJ's rage towards Sydney is justified?

Absolutely not. She is an innocent little baby - she did nothing to him.
He is letting his pain over being lied to about something so important control his emotions. It's understandable.
I think EJ is detaching himself from Sydney because he believes he has no chance of remaining her father.
Just reveal the rest of the secret already - who cares what EJ thinks?
